Decent is on a mission to deliver affordable health insurance for all. We help small businesses (2-100 employees) band together in a large group PEO and do their payroll, so we can save them 35% on their health insurance. We're servicing a huge market need for affordable and delightful health insurance (79 NPS vs. industry average of 19), and all of our plans include unlimited primary care via the direct primary care (DPC) model. We sell both direct and through brokers and have partnered with national broker distributors like BenefitMall and OneDigital (25K brokers) to offer the world's first integrated health plan PEO. Who You Are
Decent is seeking a highly motivated accountant to join a small team dedicated to making this vision a reality. This individual will play an essential role in day to day management of company finances, while owning reporting processes that drive key decision making. The successful candidate will combine solid experience with deep curiosity and a can-do attitude.
What You Will Be Doing
- You’re an expert in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), have experience with Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), and have a strong analytical aptitude
- You’ll manage monthly invoicing and collections across businesses
- You own the accounts payable process, ensuring timely payment of vendors and proper classification of transactions
- You’ll maintain accounting records and prepare monthly financial statements and reporting for consumption by senior management and other stakeholders
- You’ll assist with preparation of regulatory & tax filings, as well as manage audit engagements
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA a plus.
- 3-5 years progressive experience in accounting
- Background working in Healthcare/Insurance
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple demands simultaneously
- Experience working with Quickbooks, procurement software, as well as strong Excel skills
