Commercial/Ag Loan Portfolio: 60%

• Responsible for generating commercial/Ag loans within guidelines set by bank policy and growth targets.
• Responsible for managing a commercial/Ag loan portfolio of assigned loans. This includes credit quality, credit approval, operations process, and the profitability of the portfolio.
• Responsible for the credit quality of the assigned portfolio. This includes fairly grading credits and collection of problem loans.

Sales: 20%

• Responsible for deepening relationships with existing customers by understanding the full account relationship and making sales calls to solicit additional product sales.
• Must help attract new customer to the bank through participation in the bank's sales calling efforts.
• Must help cross-sell to other (non-lending) bank products and services such as DDA, COD, Trust, Investment and Insurance.
• Sells and services crop insurance

Community Involvement: 10%

• Actively involved in community and civic organizations as appropriate to represent the bank in the community.
• Actively involved in the agricultural community to understand trends and current conditions in the field.

Miscellaneous: 10%

• This position may be requested to support other functions within the bank outside the normal scope of duties.

Requirements

• Must understand all aspects of commercial/Ag lending and a basic understanding of lending within a community bank environment.
• Must understand the concepts of sales as it pertains to selling financial service products. Must be able to develop prospects and determine optimal ways to sell to those potential customers.
• Must be able to understand key issues involved with negotiating. Must be able to listen and approach negotiation from a "win-win" standpoint.
• Must embrace change and see it as an opportunity. Must be willing to express and support management's ideas to affected staff.

Education and/or Experience:   

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university and three to five years related experience preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

Credit Life and Crop Insurance License

Language Skills:   

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:  

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:  

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
