Description
The Operations Specialist is responsible for maintenance of accounts, checkback of new and closed accounts, printing debit cards, working debit card disputes, processing proofing correction and assisting the team with wire transfer requests. This department has 3 rotating roles which will rotate on a weekly basis. This role is responsible for assisting the bank, to the best of the employee’s abilities, in complying with applicable state and federal banking rules and regulations as they pertain to this position including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act. Must embrace and uphold the bank’s Code of Conduct, Core Values and Service Standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities-include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintenance/Checkback: 30%
Process maintenance requests in Workflow. Is responsible for assisting with checkback of new and closed accounts and debit card checkback.
Debit Cards: 25%
Processes new debit card applications. Is responsible for troubleshooting debit card issues, completes all debit card maintenance, handles all debit card compromises and will reissue cards and notify customers as needed. Will handle processing of debit card disputes.
Administrative: 30%
Collects necessary information for outgoing wires from staff to send out customer wire requests. Gathers wire transfer information and enters in core and FIRE system. Processing incoming wires. Handles miscellaneous tasks as needed.
Customer Service: 10%
Assist customers with entering Safe Deposit Box, determine if customer is able to access box by reviewing lease. Opening and closing Safe Deposit Boxes, assisting with the drilling of boxes.
Miscellaneous: 5%
May be asked to help in other areas of the bank as needed.
Other duties may be assigned.

This position requires individual to be detail oriented, have 10-key skills, computer skills which may include Excel and Word and be able to demonstrate the ability to learn specific computer programs required of the position. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate degree preferred; High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
