What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher (Assistant) position at Deep Roots School?

We are hiring an assistant teacher for our Early Childhood Classroom (ages 3-5).
Your role:
Within this role, you will work with two other teachers to set the classroom up each morning (at 8 am) for a day of learning and fun. During the school day (8:30 am - 3:30 pm), you will guide students in hands-on outdoor and indoor activities. (About half of the day will be spent outdoors and half indoors). Some activities will take place one-on-one (with you and a student), others in small groups, and some in whole group. All activities will be authentic and student-centered, stemming from students’ interests. You will guide students in their interactions with one another and engaging, hands-on Montessori materials. You will connect with parents at drop off and pick up, updating them on their children’s day. At the end of the day (3:30 pm - 4 pm), you will help with cleaning up the space, ensuring that it is prepared for the following day. In essence, you will work as part of a creative team to provide authentic, child-based, and holistic activities to children (ages 3 - 5). You will also invest in setting up the classroom, recognizing that the environment is integral to quality education. You will build relationships with the children, teachers, and parents, building and growing in community.
