Ski perks (vary based on employment status) may include Deer Valley season pass, free skiing or riding at other Alterra Resorts and select local Utah resorts Friends and family ski discounts, free staff ski lessons and discounted rentals (winter staff only) Subsidized meals at Employee Dining Rooms offered for staff while on shift Subsidized housing options available for seasonal full-time staff Discounts for staff members at restaurants, shops, and service providers in Park City Healthcare options are available for staff members 401k plan with company match PURPOSE OF POSITION: To effectively, efficiently and proactively maintain the building, residences and associated equipment and systems in Flagstaff and other Empire Pass properties as assigned; To manage by example with a wealth of knowledge, but also a clear focus on leadership, communication and planning; To increase staff effectiveness and efficiency through the development of their potential and clear expectations. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide direct supervision of building maintenance technicians, supervisors and staff, while also embracing a teamwork ethos Formulation of daily, weekly and long-term building maintenance assignments and areas of attention with a strong focus on attention to detail Formulation and adherence to annual operating budgets Formulation of capital expenditure requests and planning and execution of approved building maintenance capital projects Ability to work with and effectively communicate with outside vendors and build strong working relationships. Oversee contractors, rental agreements, etc. Ensure all safety protocols are being met, documented and kept current on an annual basis Competently and conscientiously perform the required vehicle and equipment inspections and servicing, recording results accurately and completely Monitor crew’s equipment inspections, servicing and records for completeness, accuracy and correct deficiencies when necessary Quickly and accurately identify problems with projects or equipment as they arise and provide appropriate solutions or alternatives Provide competent answers to staff equipment and systems related questions and provide assistance with or appropriate recommendations for issues Monitor progress of projects making adjustments in planning when necessary in order to complete assignments on schedule Effectively communicate building maintenance issues or delays with other resort leadership and superiors and implement contingency plans when necessary Maintain cleanliness of building maintenance equipment and workspaces Provide frequent constructive performance critiques to staff and provide appropriate company required discipline and evaluations when needed Exhibit professional conduct at all times as a representative of Deer Valley Resort QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of five years in a building maintenance, or similar, leadership position Strong working knowledge of all aspects of building maintenance including, but not limited to mechanical, heating, cooling, refrigeration & kitchen equipment, electrical, plumbing, woodworking, exterior, etc. Experience with modern building maintenance control systems a plus Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with other resort leadership on maintenance matters Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office and Outlook suites Experience with digital asset management and work order programs, A positive and professional attitude Safety oriented Ability to work well with others, regardless of background Exceptional dependability, must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on business demands and be on call as needed Able to get to work at all hours and in extreme weather conditions Physical requirements: Able to lift 40 lbs Able to sit, stand, crawl, kneel and adjust position for up to 50% of shift Close, distance, and color vision and the ability to adjust focus Deer Valley Resort is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
