Manager, Infrastructure Engineering-Hosting Services

Your Role:

The Manager, Infrastructure Engineering role involves planning and setting direction for teams relating to on-premise infrastructure services including database and storage architectures to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and availability. The Manager, Infrastructure Engineering provides direct management to the team of infrastructure professionals, including mentoring, performance management, and staffing. Lead all activities of internal/external resources within the group. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of the company's IT infrastructure.

The role will ensure stable worldwide on-premise infrastructure service operations and align solutions to company IT standards/policies for the company’s IT assets. This role involves planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all on-premise infrastructure including hardware, software, and security. It also includes leading external infrastructure suppliers globally. This leader will track innovative technologies and design and develop new solutions, while maintaining the legacy operating environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and mentor a team with varied strengths responsible for on-premise infrastructure services including storage and database administration globally.
• Drive Team goals and service objectives.
• Lead the IT department on projects involving infrastructure additions, upgrades and other projects related to on-premise infrastructure services including storage and database architectures.
• Works with Senior Leadership to develop the structure, resources, and processes to lead the organization’s current activities and long-term projected growth.
• Establishes regular departmental meetings to promote communication and adequate information flow.
• Lead projects involving infrastructure additions, upgrades and other projects related to on-premise infrastructure services including storage and database architecture. Resolve and lead priorities, timelines, and schedules.
• Participate in the development of the IT vision. Responsible for translating the vision into short and long-term goals and work you're doing.
• Handle relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure delivery of high-quality services.
• Interact regularly with customers to understand their business and to anticipate the needed IT changes. Lead business relationships.
• Lead and optimize the organization’s database and storage systems.
• Implement database security measures and ensure data integrity.
• Oversee database backup and recovery processes.
• Ensure timely and effective incident resolution, problem management, and service request fulfillment.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and technologies to make informed recommendations for improvement.
• Ensure the availability, performance, and scalability of premise systems with regards to storage and databases.
• Support the on-premise infrastructure operations 24/7.
• Assist and backup IT Support Specialist with help desk and support issues related to on-premise infrastructure services including storage and databases.
• Build and maintain documentation of the on-premise infrastructure solutions.
• Test and document system recoveries and assure recoverability.
• Lead licensing, warranty, and support contracts for on-premise infrastructure services including storage and database solutions.
• Performs other duties as requested.

What you will bring

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• 8 years of IT infrastructure solutions management experience.
• Experience leading IT personnel and external service providers.
• Knowledgeable hardware and software solutions (including storage/databases).
• Ability to lead multiple projects.
• Ability to work with personnel from all levels.
• Availability for off-hour calls and systems work.
• Experience working with infrastructure operations in manufacturing environments.
• Acts with a sense of urgency, illustrates ambition and drives for completion of tasks and projects.
• Must have the ability to initiate and develop creative solutions that are cost effective and supportable.
• Demonstrate leadership competencies such as: effective planning, motivating, and developing staff and building effective teams.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies.
• Strategic thinking and the ability to align IT initiatives with business goals.
• Up to date with the latest trends and advancements in database administration, and storage solutions.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $112,000 to $154,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
