The responsibilities of an LDRP Nurse include caring for laboring mothers, post-partum mothers, and newborns. An LDRP nurse should have a caring, empathetic nature and work well under pressure in a stressful environment. Also, be able to coordinate care with a team of healthcare professionals.
Lacatation Nurse Responsibilities:
- Provides lactation support and education to patients and families
- Interprets changes in family health structure, and assumes responsibility for using available resources for follow through.
- Communicates information to parent, significant others, and staff using positive interpersonal relation skills, using appropriate judgment in content and timing.
- Coordinates patient discharge planning and referrals.
- Identifies barriers to learning and develops and implements individualized teaching plan.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Florida RN license.
- 1-year OB experience is required.
- Current BLS, NRP,
- STABLE preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A professional, positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work shifts and remain on-call for emergency situations.
