Job Title:                              Planner

Reports to:                         Distribution Operations Director 

Job Summary

This position will be responsible for forecasts for new and existing products. You will Maintain Material Requirements Planning (MRP) module inputs to keep inventories at acceptable levels. Review D365 Planned Orders for purchase orders, transfer orders, and production work orders. Responsible for managing aged inventory, preparing product runouts, and supply chain management for new product launches.

Essential Duties

  • Maintain working knowledge of Supply Chain system and capabilities.
  • Create and maintain sales forecasts for new and existing products by analyzing historical data to establish reasonable logic for projected sales volume.
  • Independently analyze Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to determine inventory balance and ordering quantities of existing products. 
  • Makes critical decisions regarding such inventory balances and ordering quantities.
  • Maintain MRP files by uploading and/or updating sales forecast files.
  • Conducting S&OP meetings with Sales representatives and Customer Experience Associates to review and alter forecasts to reflect real world circumstances. 
  • Review and analyze D365 planned orders to firm into purchase orders and transfer orders.
  • Analyze and maintain inventory balance between Distribution facilities.
  • Review MRP action messages and production schedule to ensure product is produced timely to avert stock-outs and excess inventory.
  • Ensures timely delivery of goods and/or services and expedite products when needed.
  • Work with Shipping on low inventory and pending order resolution.
  • Other forecasting tasks as assigned.

 Education and Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of Supply Chain experience or a bachelor’s degree (4 year) in business preferred.

 Physical Requirements

  • Constant talking, hearing, sitting, and repetitive motions.
  • Occasional standing, reaching, grasping, and bending.
  • Rarely carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping.
  • Requires eye and hand coordination.
  • Office setting, with occasional exposure to manufacturing environments.

 Travel Requirements

  • This position may require up to 10% travel between location and vendor sites by use of company or personal motor vehicle.
  • Occasional travel to other out-of-state Volm and vendor facilities, may, on rare occasion be requested.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license, be a minimum of 21 years of age, and ability to hold a minimum personal auto liability insurance limit of $300,000 per accident and $100,000 personal property coverage.
