We are seeking a NOC Administrator with a strong focus on networking architecture and operations (layer 2, layer 3, virtual networks, routing protocols) to join our second shift Engineering Support team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring network and system performance, identifying and escalating incidents, and providing initial troubleshooting and resolution for basic technical issues.
Our ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of networking concepts, strong analytical skills, and a customer-centric approach. You will play a critical role in maintaining the availability, stability, and integrity of our network infrastructure.
\n- Monitor task workflow, customer communications, and trouble ticket generation / escalation / resolution.
- Provide initial analysis, triage, and troubleshooting for basic technical issues reported by users or detected through monitoring tools.
- Escalate complex incidents or issues to Tier 2/3 support teams, ensuring proper documentation and communication.
- Proactively monitor and troubleshoot Deft and customer environmentsfor stability and performance.
- Create, modify, and improve documentation supporting the Engineering Support Team.
- Respond to customer trouble reports and requests via telephone and trouble ticketing systems, using experience and judgment to escalate problems as needed.
- Work with team members across multiple geographic locations and time zones to ensure thorough completion of tasks.
- Act as both an internal and external-facing escalation point involving technical issues and network status.
- Contribute to knowledge base documentation, updating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and best practices.
- Maintain and promote Deft’s top-quality support and customer satisfaction.
- Propose, develop, and complete projects requisite with skill level.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices
- Experience working in a NOC environment
- Hands-on prior experience working in a data center
- Experience working with ticketing systems (e.g., JIRA, Zendesk)
- Experience interacting with monitoring tools (e.g., DataDog, LogicMonitor, Prometheus)
- Experience using runbooks to troubleshoot and correct common problems
- Minimum of 1-year operational experience (Service Provider or Enterprise IT Campus/Datacenter).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP, and network protocols
- Typical “internet application” comprehension: HTTP/S, SMTP, DNS, etc.
- Basic VMWare skill set
- Basic Linux knowledge and skill sets
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn, teach, and share knowledge.
- Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
- Working knowledge of Veeam backup software
- Working knowledge of Juniper JUNOS
- Working knowledge of firewalls
- RedHat (or other Linux distribution) certifications
- Experience working in multitenant, managed services environment

Pay Range: $29 - $36/hour
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
