What are the responsibilities and job description for the Walk Driver position at Dejana Industries?
Position Title: Walk Driver
Department / Work Location: Machesney Park
Reports To: Walk Manager and Route Manager
Status: Casual Nonexempt
Position Purpose: The Walk Driver’s responsibility is to transport teams consisting of 2 to 4 laborers while working hands-on to ensure all work meets TSP standards.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Snow removal and chemical application for designated areas
• Knowledge of proper use of shovel, ATV or any assigned TSP equipment
• Proper application method of chemical application
• Clocks in/out using provided time keeping app at start and end of shift.
• Follows correct and timely post-accident reporting and testing procedures
• All other duties as assigned
Education, Requirements and/or Professional Experience:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid Driver License.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Ability to provide reliable vehicle for work.
• Ability to provide required vehicle insurance coverage.
Skills/Qualifications:
• On-Call daily availability from October 15th to April 15th.
• Must have a smart phone that can download timekeeping application.
Physical Requirements:
• Required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift, grasp, carry, push, and pull for long period of time.
• Must be able to lift and/or move 50 pounds plus.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• The ability to work and shovel under strenuous, inclement outdoor weather for extended periods of time.
