HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
Directs the overall accounting functions for a single business unit. Collects and compiles financial data at the business unit level and oversees the preparation of forecasts, tax filings, financial, budget, auditing, and other reports. Ensures that the business unit complies with accounting regulations and standards, adheres to company policies and procedures (including internal SOX compliance), while maintaining strict financial timelines. The position will oversee two direct reports.
- Manage ongoing accounting processes, data entry, journal entry preparation, financial reporting, monthly and year-end closing.
- Oversee annual budgets, cash flow forecasts, multi-year financial plans, and timely and accurate financial statements. Review monthly financial results and reporting requirements. Prepare event flash reports and other financial reports to help improve efficiencies and profitability.
- Oversee the monthly close process which includes reviewing journal entries, invoicing, and cash receipts to ensure the department is maintaining proper documentation.
- Provide guidance by developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure the department complies with SOX Internal Control requirements. Provide direction and guidance as needed for both internal and external audits.
- Prepare and/or review monthly account analyses and reconciliations as required.
- Maintain and update the department’s financial walk-throughs to ensure they represent current review procedures that are used as a basis for audit testing.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION OR DEGREE:
- A minimum education level of: BA/BS Degree (4-year).
- Advanced Accounting degree preferred.
- CPA or actively pursuing CPA required.
WORKING EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
- A minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
- A minimum of 1 year of managerial experience.
- Extensive experience with financial statement preparation and GAAP principles.
- Skill in personnel management, fiscal planning, budget preparation and administration, data collection and analysis, implementation of existing policies and procedures, and staff hiring and training.
- Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to present financial and operational information in a clear, concise manner to management
- Experience drafting audited financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flows with all required footnotes).
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office Software, particularly Excel.
- Proficient knowledge of accounting software systems.
- Capable of handling all aspects of the accounting cycle and principles.
- Ability to work under above-average pressure in meeting urgent deadlines.
- Poise and confidence to command respect of peers and counterparts.
