Job Posting for Seasonal County Highway Mower at DeKalb County Government, Indiana

DeKalb County Government—an employer committed to safety and service—currently has part time Highway Department industrial roadside mower tractor opportunities available for experienced individuals willing to work in all weather conditions. Normal Summer working hours are 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday with 30-minute unpaid lunch. Flexible part time schedule to be determined. $18.82/hr – no benefits.

County laborer/driver requirements:

  • Must have a valid, verifiable Indiana driver’s license
  • Must have a high school diploma/GED
  • Experience with driving tractors or farm equipment helpful
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Able to perform manual labor/riding a mower for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs chest high
  • Good safety record and driver history – insurable through County’s insurance carrier
  • Employment subject to Background Screening
  • Effectively communicate and interact with other employees and general public
  • Have some knowledge of safety regulations and laws pertaining to highway department
