Job Title: Asst. Production Supervisor/EHS Specialist
Reports to: EHS/HR Manager
Safety is the most important part of all jobs at Del Conca USA; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
This position will work 3 ½ days on followed by 3 Days off.
Summary
This is a production-focused role. The focus is 70/30 with an emphasis on production while driving the safety culture forward. The Asst. production Supervisor/EHS Specialist position is responsible for assisting with EHS-related compliance by aiding with OSHA record keeping, assisting with the completion of scheduled training and new hire orientation, and completing assigned facility improvement projects. This position will provide general supervision to production associates in multiple departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following
- Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for assisting with safety-related training for production associates.
- Provide general supervision to production associates in multiple departments
- Assist with the organization and communication of safety meetings to production associates.
- Assist with and/or lead incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Aids in the completion of monthly safety audits. To include but not limited to fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, etc.
- Assist and support the activities of the First Responder Program.
- Serves as a backup to Department Supervisors in their absence.
- Directs production Operators in the performance of daily duties.
- Provides training/development to production Operators (New hires and current associates).
- Reviews staffing and schedule assignments as necessary.
- Assists Department Supervisors in associate scheduling, performance evaluation process, discipline, etc.
- Addresses associate issues (i.e., job performance, training, time and attendance review, scheduling, corrective actions, etc.
- Maintains work area in a neat, orderly, and safe condition.
- Alerts superiors to any problems with production levels and/or quality standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Entry-level EHS position.
· Prior leadership experience required.
· Familiar with OSHA regulations and safety programs/topics.
· Associate degree/Some college in a related field, study, or certifications strongly preferred.
· Experience providing training in a professional setting.
· Willingness to present in front of a group.
· Ability to perform on-the-floor coaching
· 2-Years of prior manufacturing supervisory experience strongly preferred
· Must be proficient in MS Office
