ob Title: Quality Control Lead
Classification: non-exempt full time
Report to: Quality Assurance Supervisor
A. PURPOSE
Under minimal supervision the employee performs a full range of assignments within the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Department in correlation with the Quality Assurance Supervisor, and Quality Assurance Manager. QC Lead supports Quality Assurance and Operations Departments to enforce Food Safety/Quality and SQF related guidelines Projects.
B. DUTIES
General Overall Duties (1-9 listed below)
1. Follows and enforces employee’s safety procedures.
2. Report any unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor or manager.
3. Follow, Monitor, and Enforce all food safety procedures.
4. Follows and enforces SQF requirements (Facilities, Equipment, SSOP, SOP, GMP’s, and ETC)
5. Follows and enforces USDA & FDA guidelines and regulations.
6. Follow Company Policies, Regulations, and Lunch & Break Policies.

Ø Candidates must possess a fundamental understanding of FDA, FSIS-USDA regulations through Regulatory Requirements for Meat/Poultry Food Products.
8. Works together with Quality Control Supervisor to complete tasks in a neat and timely manner.
9. Acts as a Quality Control Supervisor in his/her absence.
Position Area Duties (1-12 listed below)

1. Support Production and Quality Control technicians with the implementation of the SQF System.
2. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the SQF System, including food safety fundamentals.
3. Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the SQF System.
4. Have an understanding of the SQF Code level III and the requirements to implement and maintain SQF System relevant to Del Real Foods scope of certification.
5. Work with the philosophy of continuous improvement.
6. Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate activities related to all company’s programs.
7. Train and supervise quality assurance technicians in the application and/or monitor the SQF controls.
8. Flexible hours
9. Communicate via daily reports to management regarding daily events, non-conforming products, production non-conformances.
10. Assist Quality Control Supervisors coordinating QC Technicians weekly work schedule.
11. Coach, support and motivate all Q.C Technicians.
12. Oversees QC Technicians job performance, reviews QC Records and takes immediate corrective actions when deviations are noted.
Specific Skills and Abilities Required
1. Knowledge of HACCP and GMP’s required for employee practices in a USDA Establishment.
2. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and electronic communication tools
3. Ability to analyze and make decisions
4. Energetic, Committed, Flexible and have the ability to work in a team environment
5. Good verbal and written communication skills
6. Strong knowledge of company employee policies.
C. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
1. Minimum 5-year experience on the field (Food Industry)
2. High School/ G.E.D

Salary: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
