Exciting New Senior Living Community (Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care) Now Open! The Director of Plant Operations is a key member of the Leadership Team – as they model our culture of hospitality and oversee all care and maintenance of the Community’s physical plant.
The Director of Plant Operations is responsible for maintaining an effective preventative maintenance program; the hiring, training and supervising of all plant and housekeeping employees; the coordinating of life safety and security programs; the procuring of supplies, material and equipment, and assisting with budget preparation and operating within budgetary guidelines. The candidate will report to the Executive Director and will provide hands-on full scope management of the community maintenance and housekeeping programs while upholding the Community’s mission, philosophy, values and the Company’s vision, principles and Hospitality Promises.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities:
· Assist new employees in following established community policies and procedures.
· Complete assignments timely, completely, and accurately.
· Participate in interdisciplinary team and other community meetings as assigned or requested.
· Is observant of safety hazards and emergency situations, and reports to appropriate person or takes corrective action according to established procedures.
· Assumes accountability for compliance with Federal, State, and other regulations within scope of position and job functions.
· Observe and oversee infection control procedures.
· Perform and oversee incidental housekeeping and maintenance tasks as may arise during the course of regular duties, in order to maintain a clean, safe, pleasant environment for residents, visitors and staff.
· Assure resident safety.
· Maintain confidentiality of resident and community information.
· Consistently work cooperatively with residents, families, and co-workers.
· Always follow Resident Rights policies.
· Observe all community policies and procedures.
· Perform all other related duties as assigned in an effective, timely and professional manner.
· Act as Manager on Duty as directed by the Executive Director.
Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:
· Associates Degree or equivalent in relevant education, training, and experience
· Minimum three years’ experience as a maintenance supervisor in a similarly sized facility
· One year or more experience in apartment and/or healthcare community maintenance
· Must possess current and valid driver’s license consistent with the requirements determined by size of vehicle and laws of the state in which the driver is licensed
· Willingness to be available for any/all emergencies regarding the community
· Must have thorough understanding of all building systems and their interdependence
· May require extensive math and electrical background based on size and complexity of facility
· Be able to conduct independent assessments of a contractor’s compliance with requirements of Scope of Work
· Possess financial management practices and the application of contractor resources to meet commitments to the quality, safety, cost, and schedule of systems
· Have the ability to contract provisions necessary to provide oversight of a contractor’s performance
· Conduct independent assessments of the contractor’s maintenance training and qualification program
· Good communication skills (oral and written)
· Good inter-department communication and teamwork skills
· Capable of administering employee incentive, retention and training programs
· Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products
