Posting Description:
The school secretary serves as the face of the school, greeting students and parents and providing them with information. Secretaries schedule appointments, answer phones and give administrative support to teachers and school officials. They help maintain records on students. They are usually the first line of communication when parents call or visit a school. School secretaries order and inventory supplies, enter lunch information into the billing system and verify information in notes from doctors and parents.
Reports to: Building Principal
Terms of Employment: 10 and 12 month positions
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/Experience in office setting/Proficient in multiple technological platforms/strong communication and Organizational Skills

Contribute to the school’s overall productivity by helping coworkers when possible.
Be respectful and courteous to fellow employees, faculty, students and their families.
Utilize a problem-solving approach and adapt work habits to new or unexpected situations.
Observe all Newark Charter School policies and procedures.
