Position : Food Service Compliance Specialist

Terms of Employment : 10-Month, Full-Tme

Reports to : Manger, Food Service

Summary : Under the direction of the Food Services Operations and Production Supervisor, and Manager, facilitate and carry out all compliance and regulatory duties to ensure the Food Services Department operates efficiently and maintains compliance in all Federal, State and School regulations, while meeting all imposed deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Serve Safe Certification or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire date
• Child Nutrition Unit Classes or ability to obtain certification
• Deep knowledge of DE School Nutrition and DOE guidelines

Professional Experience Requirements :

• A minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred
• Proven ability to work well in and contribute to a team environment
• Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks and field interuptions
• Organizational skills to keep yourself and others organized
• Proven ability to communicate and collaborate with others
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel),
• Proven customer service skills

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Under the direction of the Supervisor, creates and implements Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) for Food Services Compliance
• Process meal benefit forms efficiently, entering into appropriate Food Services Program and filing
• Properly process monthly federal claims
• Properly maintaining all records per DOE FS Guidelines
• Maintain accurate records and file forms appropriately per DOE FS (State School Nutrition Guidelines)
• Adhere to the SNP Calendar of Events for the current school year
• Responsible for overseeing production entries of each Team Lead, and for maintaining accurate production records
• Identify staff training needs, developing and / or scheduling and tracking staff compliance
• Escalates all issues and concerns to Manager for resolution as needed
• Plans and executes appropriate department trainings and meetings
• Attends meetings and trainings as necessary
• Other duties as assigned

Standard Requirements :

• Favorable Criminal Background Check and Child Abuse Registry Check for the candidate who is offered employment
• Tuberculin Test
• Mandatory Direct Deposit of paycheck
