Position Summary: MOT Charter is a small school on a mission to provide a 21st century learning experience to our students. Planning and preparation
Proficient in standards and how the standards align with the curriculum.
Proficient in providing multiple levels of instruction.
In collaboration with administrators and teachers, augment course content to meet student needs and achieve MOT Charter School’s academic goals.
Be conversant in the learning standards from other disciplines to enhance cross content integration.
Orient students to their course, communicate requirements and maintain accessibility to students.
Conduct instruction using problem-solving and integration to the extent possible with other coursework.
Take ownership for student’s academic progress and attendance.
Communicate high expectations and show an active interest in student achievement.
Establish and maintain a positive rapport with families.
Conduct conferences with students and parents (or other responsible adults).
Provide opportunities for individualized instruction to help students achieve curricular objectives.
Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress.
Maintain regular contact with students and families through eschool and classroom web pages.
Support students with the set-up and maintenance of their learning environment.
Support students through basic computer troubleshooting.
Utilize online resources for instruction and communication.
Collaborate with other faculty, students and parents in order to provide a positive experience for students.
Build community by contributing to school message boards, newsletters and participating in school events.
Serve as an advisor or coach to at least one student club, organization or athletic team.
Stay current in research relating to content and instruction.
Experience teaching preferred
Strong written/verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook and the use of a student information system
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and tools
