KOA Campground Assistant Grounds & Maintenance Manager

Our Family Friendly Vacation Campground is looking to fill the position of Grounds Assistant Manager to oversee operations of a 200-site campground. Our peak season falls from April to the end of October with weekends and holidays being the busiest times, but we are open year-round. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of Grounds / Maintenance / Construction management experience in a hospitality environment. Must be personable, hands on, and have a high drive for overall campground success. The position will consist of overseeing grounds, maintenance, and security team members. Candidates may also be asked to assist in other departments as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The right candidate will assist management in overseeing day-to-day tasks such as:

· Site clean-up and road upkeep

· Trash pickup

· Landscaping (mulching, mowing, raking, digging, trimming, planting)

· Follow through and complete site maintenance and work order items (light electrical, painting, plumbing, carpentry)

· Streamline the delivery of store items

· Accept and unload deliveries

· Snow plowing, shoveling, and salting

· Routine vehicle & equipment maintenance

· Provide input for employee scheduling

· Solve problems and miscellaneous issues that arise

· Greet and converse with guests when necessary

· Help resolve camper issues with a positive attitude

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

· Camping knowledge a must.

· Self-starter with ideally, 5 years’ experience

· Ability to communicate well with management and delegate to team members

· Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

· Often work unpredictable hours, to fill in for absent workers.

· Able to work long shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

· Knowledge of housekeeping and/or maintenance departments helpful

· Able to stand for most of the day and lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb. Capable of moving safely over uneven terrain.

· Must have a valid Driver's License
