Our company is an integrated railroad services provider specializing in mechanical and janitorial services for the transportation sector. Operating nationwide, we offer a wide range of services, including routine mechanical maintenance, inspections, repairs, audits, cleaning, and specialty services tailored to the railroad industry, with a focus on passenger rail.
Job Summary:
The Qualified Person (QP) will work under the supervision of the Passenger Rail Mechanic (Qualified Maintenance Person, or QMP), ensuring compliance with railroad regulations and standards while maintaining and repairing passenger rail cars and locomotives. Additionally, the QP will undertake cleaning duties as per train schedules, adhering strictly to corporate policies, health and safety protocols, and relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair passenger rail car systems including toilets, air conditioning, doors, lights, and electrical and brake systems.
- Complete required regulatory and company paperwork accurately.
- Conduct electrical tests, maintenance, and repairs on locomotives.
- Set up and remove Blue signal protection.
- Handle 480V ground power cables.
- Perform cleaning tasks on rail cars and locomotives.
- Communicate inspection findings to the supervisor.
- Work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Adhere to safety protocols and wear protective equipment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, such as waste disposal and light maintenance tasks.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent skills).
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Positive work history.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Successful completion of pre-employment screening.
