ACCOUNTING MANAGER/CONTROLLER
The Accounting Manager/Controller leads and directs all facets of the company’s accounting department and ERP system. Responsibilities include providing management team with accurate financial information and analysis needed to facilitate effective decision-making and planning. The Accounting Manager/Controller is a member of the management team. The Accounting Manager/Controller supervises the accounting team to support efficient and effective company-wide operation. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the accounting department and improve operations through effective and efficient operations.
Supervise work of two staff accountants and help them develop their skills and abilities.
Provide support and collaborate with other company personnel whose responsibilities directly align with accounting department functions.
Daily responsibilities include cash management, financial statement and financial report preparation, inventory control, insurance, accounts receivables, accounts payable and order processing.
Utilize ERP software and implement appropriate procedures and controls to ensure accuracy, enhance efficiency, and ensure proper internal controls.
Direct month-end and year-end closing and ensure that monthly and annual financial statements with supporting schedules are prepared in an accurate and timely manner.
Analyze financial information, summarize financial status, and highlight key findings.
Direct annual physical inventory and periodic cycle counts.
Complete special projects or other duties as assigned.
Meet with other members of the management team and assist in business decisions.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minimum of 4 years of experience preferably in a Manufacturing or Distribution environment.
Supervisory experience required.
Experience with Big Box retailers highly desirable.
