Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain loaders
- Responsible for the efficient working conditions of the loaders. This includes : performing routine maintenance including minor servicing, maintenance, and cleaning of the loader.
- Responsible for alerting the serviceman of any significant problems.
- Maintain hopper levels to achieve maximum production.
- Maintain stockpiles and pit floor.
- Load trucks.
- Assist with maintenance around the asphalt plant.
- Check fuel supplies at sites to ensure adequate availability.
- Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met.
- Keep records of material or equipment usage or problems encountered.
- Must have the initiative, ability, and willingness to perform and assist with other job positions for job completion as requested.
Required Skills, Qualifications & Competencies
- The ideal candidate will have 2 or more years of Heavy equipment experience.
- Must demonstrate the ability to operate the loader, excellent safety awareness, and a willingness to comply with company policies and safety standards.
- Must understand proper stockpile management methods.
- Must be able to utilize proper methods to blend material while feeding.
- Effective communication with other operators, truck drivers, and the general public is critical.
- Must have the ability to operate and maintain Loader with little or no supervision.
- Must have reliable transportation and have the ability to travel.
- Must wear proper attire at all times including : safety vests, safety glasses, long pants, above the ankle / safety-toed shoes, and reflect a clean and presentable image.
- Continuous mental and visual attention is necessary to safely and effectively complete work tasks.
- Project a positive and cooperative attitude by maintaining courteous and professional conduct with Supervisors, co-workers, customers, and the general public.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

- Must be able to climb onto and up and down a machine several times a day.
- Must be able to sit in a machine and operate for several hours without stopping.
- Must withstand vibration from job site conditions as well as noise from other equipment.
- Must be able to use arms, hands, and feet in repetitive motions.
- Must be able to perform manual duties such as placing paint drums on the vehicle.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach and signal with hands and arms;
climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
