Job Posting for Civil Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager at Delta Constructors
Essential Job Functions:
Become familiar with project specifications, drawings, permits, and contracts.
Identify, engage, and oversee subcontractors required for the project, such as surveyors, inspectors, and civil subcontractors.
Provide leadership to ensure that the work is done safely and efficiently, and that is it compliant with quality and environmental standards.
Interface with client representatives, client’s design contractors, client’s field contractors, and client’s Roads & Pads groups.
Perform job and task scheduling. Monitor workforce productivity / progress relative to the schedule.
For work performed directly by Delta, select the construction equipment and develop the construction means & methods.
Perform material take-offs and scrubs. Quote and requisition materials. Prioritize the material deliveries to the site.
Assist the development and execution of civil/structural Quality Control systems. Address any deficiencies identified by the QC/QA teams.
Identify and mitigate any health, safety, or environmental hazards.
Identify project gaps and discrepancies before they are an issue. Write requests for information (RFI’s). Track and address RFI responses, to include submittal of Change Orders, Field Material Requests, and redline markups.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Position will require deployment to the North Slope. Hours are typically 11.5 hours/day, 7 days/week.
Transportation between Anchorage and the North Slope is provided. Housing, meals, FRC’s, and transportation are provided while on the North Slope.
Minimum Qualifications:
If education is High School Diploma / GED: 4 years of experience in heavy civil construction. At least 1 of these years must be in Alaska or Canada.
If education is Associates or 2yr Technical Degree, in a relevant field: 3 years of experience in heavy civil construction. At least 1 of these years must be in Alaska or Canada.
If education is BS Degree or higher in a relevant field: 2 years of experience in heavy civil construction. At least 1 of these years must be in Alaska or Canada.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Current and valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
NSTC certification with 2022 ASH and H2S module, or ability to obtain upon hire (1-day online course).
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given for experience with any of the following: Oil & Gas, ACWR’s, USACE permits, Alaska DEC permits, Sharepoint, ArcGIS, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, P6, Timberline, HeavyJob, WinEst.
Preference will also be given for any of the following certifications: AK-CESCL, EIT, PE, PLS.
Pay:
$150,000.00 - $200,000.00 is typical annual equivalent.
