Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead, guide and train Insulator Helpers
  • Understand blueprints, sketches
  • Measure, shape and cut materials to specified measurements
  • Insulate, cover, wrap, staple, glue, fit insulating materials
  • Finish insulation using sealants, tape, cement and metals
  • Attends training sessions, seminars, and appropriate educational classes required by department
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Work Experience: Journeyman level hours and experience (typically 5 years)
  • License/Certifications:
    • Current and valid driver’s license
    • OSHA10 Certificate, or ability to obtain upon hire
    • H2S Certificate, or ability to obtain upon hire
    • Alaska locations only: North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) Training, required
    • Must have own insulation specific tools or personal preferences
    • Post Job Offer Requirements:
    • Take and pass a pre-employment drug test
    • Alaska North Slope locations only: Take and pass a Fit-for-Duty Examination

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Advanced knowledge of Insulation process and methods
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the different type of tools involved in insulation
  • Knowledge of design, principles and technical plans such as blueprints and drawings
  • Knowledge of Hazardous Materials and Safety Regulations and industry practices related to materials and equipment use and operation
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to use time efficiently in order to complete projects/assignments on time
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to handle stress and possess positive attitude even in difficult or challenging situations

  • The incumbent is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles and equipment.
  • Alaska locations only: The employee must be able to physically travel by air within, and out of, the State of Alaska.
  • North Dakota locations only: The employee must be able to physically travel by air within, and out of, the State of North Dakota.
  • The employee will be required to work and stay on site during the work rotation and must comply with all Company and Client policies including but not limited to attendance, safety, COVID 19 testing and vaccination.
