Position Summary
The Data Architect is an individual contributor that helps shape our analytics environment into a truly enterprise data platform. Working with data engineering and the analyst community, the data architect will develop models to support diverse use cases from data discovery and profiling, to analytics, to the creation of data products for operational use. Successful candidates will strike a balance between allowing our solutions teams to remain agile while making key architecture decisions to support our growth.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Design, gain stakeholder buy-in, build, implement and maintain physical and logical modeling of enterprise data to support analytics and operational use cases.
- Define subject areas and conform data from multiple sources.
- Produce processes that lead to the productive use of data systems across the organization and ensure high data quality.
- Analyze and implement tooling for data modeling, lineage, and profiling.
- Works with Enterprise Architecture to shape data governance policies and serves as subject matter expert in their field.
- Frequently interacts with technical project teams
Skills/Abilities, Experience and Education Requirements
At least 7 years experience in data modeling.- Experience with organizational change management and incorporating stakeholder insights effectively.
- Proficiency with cloud data warehousing technologies, Redshift preferred.
- Extensive hands on experience in data warehousing design, tuning and ETL/ELT process development.
- Understanding of database and analytical technologies in the industry including Columnar databases, Data Warehouse design, BI reporting, and Dashboard development.
- Must be productive in a rapidly changing environment.
- Must be capable of providing strong technical leadership and mentoring.
