JOB DESCRIPTION
The Expert Applications Architect will be responsible for the design and analysis of software projects, coordination, creation, and socialization of the conceptual approach document on strategic business initiatives, documentation standards, system architecture best practices and current system architecture documentation for their respective domain. The position is also responsible for collaborating with partner teams, enterprise architecture and development teams on best practices, guidelines, and standards as well as evangelizing Technology transformation initiatives. This position is responsible for providing expertise and direction to Leadership when discussing strategic projects, design and application initiatives as well as providing high level estimates for the purpose of business case creation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs complex systems analysis and solution design on data platform and software applications within organization to help design business processes.
Performs coordination, creation, and socialization of the conceptual approach document for new business initiatives.
Collaborates with the enterprise architecture and development teams to identify new tools and technologies, assure strategy alignment and utilize common components where applicable within the application.
Acts as an expert technical mentor to other members of the development teams and business users.
Collaborates with senior managers to determine business-specific data and application needs.
Compiles and implements application development plans for new or existing applications.
Leads the application development team and supervises the design, testing, and modification stages.
Leads specific efforts focused on improving resiliency, performance, and/or additional operational controls.
Identifies technical issues and risks and facilitates the mitigation approach.
Understands normal business constraints (resources, budget, and legacy technology) and actively develop creative solutions within this framework to address these limitations.
Participates and leads in code reviews to identify errors in the development phase that will lessen product vulnerabilities as well as improve the quality of the software.
Assists with deep technical problem determination during system outage events and work with operational team to quickly evaluate and implement resolution paths.

QUALIFICATIONS
8 years of technical/functional design experience related to application implementation and software development preferred cloud data platforms.
5 years of experience with software design/development resulting in strong knowledge of the application framework.
Highly proficient in programming languages, such as SQL, cloud technologies like Microsoft azure, AWS etc.
Experience in Snowflake Cloud Data Warehouse is big plus.
Experience in designing APIs, Data services, Microservices, Data Management and data integration processes.
Extensive experience in aligning application development with business needs.
Expertise in Data Virtualization tools and technologies, preferably Tibco Data Virtualization.
Expert level technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design, and implementation.
Experience with Agile Development.
Exceptional communication skills.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent documentation skills including conceptual, logical and physical diagrams.
