General Description
The Producer Contract Specialist is responsible for onboarding producers and monitoring producer data. This position works closely with producers, sales, account management, finance, and compliance. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, collecting and processing producer contract and appointment materials, maintenance of producer records, and contract and appointment terminations. This highly motivated, critical thinking individual will use proven communication skills and attention to detail to ensure successful and timely onboarding of producers. Professionalism, accuracy and timeliness are critical.
Responsibilities
• Provide credible and knowledgeable communications with present and prospective producers on contracting and appointment matters, including new contracts, contract and appointment terminations, mergers and acquisitions.
• Process contracts and appointments in a timely manner.
• Provide guidance on the transfer of business upon a producer’s exit from an agency, retirement or death.
• With guidance from compliance and management, ensure licensing and appointment requirements are followed.
• Prepare for and participate in periodic audits.
• Generate timely and accurate reports.
• Provide customer service support to staff and producers.
• Establish and maintain producer data in all applicable systems.
• Assume additional responsibilities as needed.
• Participate in activities to build collaboration and team commitment.
Education, Skills, Personal Attributes, and Experience Required
1. Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in an office setting required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2. 2 - 3 years’ applicable experience in contracts, preferably in insurance, managed care or other health care industries.
3. Ability to meet IRS criteria to access the IRS TIN matching system.
4. A minimum of one year’s experience reading, analyzing, and implementing contracts is required.
5. Working knowledge of insurance licensing procedures and regulations is preferred.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
7. Familiarity with contract management software preferred.
8. Ability to learn and proficiently use other computer programs.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong eye for grammatical, spelling and other editing errors.
10. Ability to provide independent and creative problem solving, critical thinking, research and analytical skills; ability to interpret and validate data/reports and effectively communicate impacts both internally and externally.
11. Ability to build collaborative relationships from various disciplines at all levels in the organization.
12. Well-developed customer service skills.
13. Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask.
14. Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
15. Demonstrated professionalism is required; communicate effectively.
16. Team player with an appreciation of how producer contracts and appointments impact the organization.
17. Functional understanding of finance and compensation.

20. Data entry skills with proven ability to enter data at the required speed with minimal errors.

Work Conditions
• General office working conditions which may require sitting for extended periods of time.
• Infrequent overnight travel may be required.
