The Solutions Architect will play a critical role in shaping and delivering technology solutions, that support the delivery of DDNJ’s corporate vision. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organization to understand business needs, design innovative solutions, and guide implementation. 

 

You will be a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise, dedicated to building business domain expertise, honing excellent communication skills, and a having passion for delivering value throughout technology. 

 

While primarily focused on overseeing DDNJ’s API lead Integration strategy you will also have responsibilities and input in modernizing DDNJ’s core Enrollment & Claims processing platforms.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

 

  • Technology Solutions Leadership:
    • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, reliable, and secure solutions across multiple domains, including integration, cloud, and business applications.
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and developers to understand requirements and translate them into scalable and sustainable solutions aligned with IT Strategy.
    • Proactive exploration of emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement.
  • Integration Strategy Oversight:
    • Provide primary architectural oversight of DDNJ’s API lead Integration strategy, leveraging RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures to enhance operational efficiency and resiliency.
    • Assist in re-architecting existing applications and services to support platform modernization and rationalization efforts under the broader Smart Cloud Strategy.
    • Establishment of performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of integration solutions in achieving business objectives.
  • Architecture Group Participation:
    • Actively participate in DDNJ’s Architecture Group to support Enterprise Architecture
    • Participate in the development of architectural blueprints, reference architecture and guidelines for technology adoption and implementation, such as cloud migration, application modernizations, and CRM integration.
    • Support the selection of technology/vendors in with other architects & leadership.
  • Technical Guidance and Oversight:
    • Provide technical oversight and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices, standards, and methodologies.
    • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in architecture and design, incorporating them into solution designs as appropriate.
    • Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, design documents, and guidelines, ensuring clear communication and alignment across PMO & IT teams.
  • Administrative Oversight:
    • Provide administrative oversight on Mulesoft & WebMethods integration platforms, ensuring efficient operation and alignment with organizational objectives.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Technical and Functional 

  • Expertise with Mulesoft platform delivery and administration.
  • Demonstrable experience designing scalable distributed solutions with API platforms, data engineering, and core business applications. 
  • Expertise with EDI x12 Standards and EDI Mapping/Translation ideally in the dental domain.
  • Experience with GCP or equivalent public cloud and its relevant technologies such as:
    • Networking (Virtual Private Cloud, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud Interconnect)
    • Compute (Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud Functions)
    • Data (Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, BigTable, BigQuery, Storage)
    • Configuration Mgmt. and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager)
    • Containers (GKE, Cloud Run)
    • Security (Cloud Identity, Certificate Authority Service, Secret Manager)
  • Experience in the design of High Availability, DR, and Business Continuity solutions of Enterprise applications. 
  • Experience with use of OAuth and OpenID for Secure Authentication and Authorization.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools and Azure DevOps tooling and deployment automation best practices.
  • Familiarity with large scale databases, web applications, and automation technologies
  • Understanding of network technologies: load-balancing, routing, DNS, and TCP/HTTP/TLS
  • Knowledge of SQL/>NET/Java/Python technology stacks
  • Strong communication, mentoring, and coaching skills
  • Skilled in cross-team collaboration, influence, and facilitation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

  • This classification will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement.

Experience, Education and Certifications Required 

 

Experience Required

  • 7 years’ experience in IT supporting architecture or delivery of Enterprise Level solutions.
  • 3 years’ experience defining and implementing Integration Architecture. 

Required Educational Level 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related discipline

 

Certifications required/preferred

  • Cloud Architecture
  • MuleSoft Architecture
