System Administrator I

SUMMARY: The System Administrator is responsible for providing technical support and management for the computer hardware and software applications used by the organization. The System Administrator should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly and should have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. This position will lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or associate's degree in computer science or related field. Experience and certifications directly related to the responsibilities specified may subsitute for bachelor's or associate's degree.
- Certifications/Licenses: MCSE preferred
- A valid MS driver’s license and auto insurance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.
- Set up computer user accounts and workstations.
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
- Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
- Troubleshoot issues and outages.
- Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
- Travel to remote offices as needed for technical support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
