The Indirect Procurement Category Manager is a specialized role that focuses on managing the procurement processes for indirect goods and services within an organization. Indirect procurement involves purchasing goods and services that are not directly incorporated into a product but are essential for supporting the business operations.
The Indirect Procurement Category Manager plays a crucial role in optimizing costs, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring that indirect goods and services are procured efficiently to support the organization’s overall operations.
This position requires being on site in our Somerset Facility a minimum of 3 days a week.
Responsibilities
Category Strategy: Develop and execute strategies for indirect procurement categories such as IT services, HR, marketing, facilities management, professional services, etc., to optimize cost savings and operational efficiency.
Supplier Management: Identify and manage relationships with suppliers for indirect categories, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
Cost Optimization: Analyze spending patterns, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to achieve cost reductions without compromising quality or service levels.
Sourcing and Procurement: Lead the sourcing process, evaluate vendor proposals, and make recommendations based on cost, quality, and service criteria.
Contract Management: Oversee the creation, review, and management of contracts for indirect goods and services, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders from various departments (finance, HR, IT, etc.) to understand their needs, align strategies, and ensure procurement supports their objectives.
Performance Analysis: Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, track KPIs, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.
Market Research and Trends: Stay updated on market trends, innovations, and changes in the indirect procurement landscape to make informed decisions.
Developing and implementing a purchasing policy as we do not have one in US wholesale
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; additional certifications (CIPS, CPSM) would be a plus.
Proven experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management, preferably in indirect procurement.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of procurement best practices and contract management.
Proficiency in procurement software and data analysis tools.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to work in a cross-functional team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
