Summary:
Demco is growing and is seeking Industrial/Manufacturing Engineers. Demco provides a competitive compensation & benefits package that takes into account your skills, and expertise. This position will work out of our Boyden, IA facility.
Primary Duties:
Design and improve processes of the manufacturing systems with a strong emphasis on quality, productivity, and operating costs by implementing lean concepts and sustaining ISO
Manage projects to reduce non-value added activities
Research and implement new tools and technology, including assisting with the quoting and purchasing process
Analyze manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, and production equipment
Design and create minor jigs and fixtures
Administer and process time studies and line balancing
Develop work instructions and provide training to production personnel
Implement continuous improvement/Lean principles
Assist with design for manufacturability for new products using the 7 stages of design process
Collaborate closely with the maintenance group to effectuate equipment upgrades and improvements
Confer with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes
Prepare charts for representation of statistical data
Work with and support ISO 9001 work instructions and procedures
Maintain accurate records and files

Requirements
Qualifications/Experience:
Equivalent to a two or four year degree preferred with major course work in an engineering curriculum or a related area of study; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
Experience with fixtures and robotic welding or fabrication including press brake
Project management skills - ability to organize and manage multiple projects through manufacturing process
Must be able to effectively present information to clients, customers and employees
Must have strong math skills including geometry and trigonometry
Excellent computer knowledge and skills with drafting programs
Excellent communication skills required
Must be detail oriented and possess a willingness to accept challenges and strive for continual improvement in all areas
Must be safety minded and practice shop safety
Must be self motivated to work independently
