Early Vote Analytics Director

 

Overview:

The Democratic National Committee is seeking an Early Vote Analytics Director, based in Wilmington, DE, to support the Biden campaign and Democrats up and down the ballot. The Early Vote Analytics Director will be responsible for synthesizing early vote data, working with partners to ensure critical data pipelines are functioning, and contributing to the coordinated campaign’s strategic approach to early vote and absentee vote. We are looking for folks with a variety of backgrounds and experience, and are dedicated to building a team that looks like America.

 

This position reports to the Deputy Chief Analytics Officer.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of analysts and engineers to implement an early vote and absentee vote analytics program across the battleground
• Facilitate day-to-day team coordination across all phases of the analytics workflow: problem scoping, ETL/data cleaning, reporting and dashboards, optimization, targeting, analysis, presentation, and stakeholder relationships. 
• Manage relationships and develop systems as necessary with partner organizations, vendors, data directors, and state voter file managers to make actionable and accurate early voting data available to the coordinated campaign 
• Work with other members of the Analytics department to use historical and in-cycle data to provide strategic advice to the Biden and coordinated campaigns. 
• Work with other members of the Analytics team and state data directors to ensure early vote insights are being translated into actionable voter contact programs. 
• Produce written materials clearly communicating the results of analysis and providing clear and actionable recommendations to program staff.

 

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• 4 years of experience applying data and advanced analytics tools in a political, business or non-profit setting.
• Expert-level knowledge of voter files; experience with voting laws, voter registration, and GOTV programs. 
• 2 years using SQL professionally. 
• Ability to balance multiple priorities, communicate goals and build consensus to work effectively within and across departments.
• A track record of prioritizing projects with the ability to be both self-directed and to delegate tasks to others.
• A desire to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and implement creative solutions to unique problems.
• Experience volunteering or working in politics. 

 

Additional Useful Skills & Qualifications:

• Familiarity with dbt, Airflow, Google BigQuery, or other technologies in our stack.
• Familiarity (if not direct experience) with early vote data and targeting programs.
