School Librarian
Job Posting for School Librarian at Dennis Yarmouth Regional School District
COMPENSATION: Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement located on the DY website.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Evaluates, selects, requisitions, receives, and organizes books, multimedia, and other instructional materials and equipment.
- Suggests appropriate books and multimedia to students for classroom assignments and personal access.
- Assists students and faculty with use of public access catalog.
- Assign students and faculty with online searches and research projects.
- Confers with faculty about provision of appropriate materials for classroom instruction.
- Confers with parents, faculty, public librarians, and community organizations to develop programs to enrich student communication skills.
- Investigate technologies that will improve services.
- Works with principal to establish appropriate use of resources.
- Plans and carries out a student instruction program for the school library media center.
- Establish and maintain a stimulating, attractive environment for learning.
- Know and follow procedures which have been established for the health, safety, and security of students.
- Achieve an in-depth understanding of the physical, social, intellectual, and emotional characteristics (in a growth context) of the age group of the students accessing the library resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Mass certification in Library /Media.
- May be responsible for the supervision of Library Aides
- Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply
