Education:
Doctorate Required, Field of Study: Board Certified DDS or DMD
Experience:
Minimum 4 years in doctorate program with receipt of Board Certification as Doctor of Dental Surgery or Doctor of Medical Dentistry.
Certifications & Licenses:
Current license to practice as a Dentist in Oklahoma. License to prescribe narcotics with DEA number.
Computer Skills:
Dental Software knowledge (Eaglesoft knowledge preferred, but not required.) All Microsoft Office products, preferred but not required.
Other Requirements:
Must have a valid driver's license, proof of valid vehicle insurance and must have annual Motor Vehicle Record Check, as a condition of employment. Must stay within Oklahoma Board of Dentistry continuing education requirements. Must have signed the Hepatitis B Vaccination Form declining or accepting the vaccination within 30 days of Employment.

- Examine teeth, gums, and related tissues, using dental instruments, x-rays, or other diagnostic equipment, to evaluate dental health, diagnose diseases or abnormalities, and plan appropriate treatments. Chart treatments in dental software.
- Formulate plan of treatment for patient's teeth and periodontium and present/communicate treatment plan with Treatment Coordinator to patient in a way the patient can understand.
- Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, or malformations of teeth, gums, or related oral structures and provide preventive or corrective services.
- Advise and educate patients regarding preventive dental care and the causes and treatment of dental problems.
- Use dental air turbines, hand instruments, dental appliances, or surgical implements. Treat exposure of pulp by pulp capping and Root Canal Treatment, using dental instruments. Fill pulp chamber and canal with endodontic materials. Remove diseased tissue using surgical instruments. Eliminate irritating margins of fillings and correct occlusions, using dental instruments. Perform oral and periodontal surgery on the periodontium.
- Manage business aspects such as supervising and managing staff. Training Dental Assistants and Treatment Coordinator to properly take care of patients’ and doctors’ needs. Handling paperwork and insurance claims by reviewing patient insurance denials and composing supportive narratives for the claims appeal process.
- May perform tasks as a specialist in the following: Pediatrics, Endodontics, Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Periodontist, or Prosthodontics, as licensed.
- Administer anesthetics to limit the amount of pain experienced by patients during procedures.
- Write prescriptions for antibiotics or other medications.
- Design, make, or fit prosthodontic appliances, such as space maintainers, bridges, dentures, and write fabrication instructions or prescriptions for denturists or dental technicians.
- Analyze or evaluate dental needs to determine changes or trends in patterns of dental disease.
- Apply fluoride or sealants to teeth.
- Plan, organize, or maintain dental health records.
- Bleach, clean, or polish teeth to restore natural color.
- Produce or evaluate dental health educational materials.
- Maintain acceptable staffing and supply costs within budgetary requirements.
- Keep abreast of new developments through structured continuing education courses.
- Use masks, gloves, and safety glasses to protect patients and self from infectious diseases.
- Communicates with Treatment Coordinator to ensure patient receives the treatment plan suited for their dental and financial needs.
- Must communicate daily with Dental Office Manager with concerns related to the daily operations of the dental office and patient care concerns.
- Complies with: Dental Depot policies and procedures; OSHA policies, procedures, rules, and regulations; and HIPAA policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Position may be required to relocate to other Dental Depot clinics either permanently or on a short term basis due to office needs, on an as needed basis at the discretion of Management.
- This position may complete other Administrative and Maintenance tasks as assigned by Management.
