We are looking for an energetic Payroll/Human Resources Assistant to join and grow within our team at our new corporate headquarters located just off Highway 65/2nd Street bridge in Jeffersonville. The Payroll/Human Resources Assistant will handle a variety of administrative tasks to provide support to the HR department. As the first point of contact for candidates, the Payroll/HR Assistant plays an important role in making a positive impact on our employees’ experience. As we continue to grow, there is an opportunity for advancement for those that have a desire to learn and grow in the field of Human Resources.

Responsibilities include:
- Process bi-weekly payroll for 150-200 employees timely and accurately, to include compiling and processing payroll data related to all earnings, benefits, garnishments, and other deductions
- Verify accuracy of time-entry and resulting pay implications and identify errors that affect payroll processing
- Maintain accurate payroll records
- Ensure compliance to all federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
- Interpret and adhere to company policies affecting payroll procedures
- Liaise with the HR Manager to ensure accurate information is updated and maintained for payroll and resolve any payroll discrepancies prior to payroll deadline.
- Verify employee records and consult departments in the event of a discrepancy
- Approachable, professional and provide excellent customer service and problem resolution to employees at all levels regarding payroll items
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and exercise good judgment and discretion in handling and disseminating information.
- Process employee changes, terminations, and bonuses
- Creating payroll reports and spreadsheets as needed for internal use and clients.
- Reporting for Job Costing/Labor Distribution each pay period.
- Processing employee reimbursements.
- Managing applicant pre-employment screening and scheduling onboarding for hiring managers.
- Tracking candidate data in Excel.
- Assist new employees with onboarding into payroll system.
- Scanning and electronic filing of employee information.
- Support HR projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualities Desired In Successful Candidate:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field, preferred
- Minimum of two years of experience in payroll processing working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with payroll software, such as Insperity or ADP.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and desire to thrive in team-based work or independent tasks, always looking to learn more and take initiative on a number of different projects and tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal communication, as well as written.
- Professionalism, with an emphasis on customer service.
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Must be able to reliably commute to downtown Jeffersonville, Indiana just off the first exit Monday-Friday, 9-5 p.m.
