The hiring salary for the position is $56,000-$62,000 based on experience.

The Museum believes vaccination is an important measure to protect the health and safety of everyone from significant illness due to COVID-19 infection. As a condition of employment, employees must present proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 on their first day of employment or receive an exemption or other reasonable accommodation due to circumstances protected under federal or state law that prevent the employee from being vaccinated. Employees are also mandated to receive a booster within 6 months of being fully vaccinated.
POSITION PURPOSE:
This position reports to the Director of Accounting.
This position supports all aspects of Payroll, utilizing a skillset that has great attention to detail, accuracy, understanding Museum operations, not-for-profit accounting, as well as payroll and withholdings regulations. Additionally, reconciles Benefits accounts and other Museum related entities. Performance of segregated duties and adherence to internal control procedures contributes to the audit requirement of safeguarding museum assets.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recurring Duties
- Prepare bi-weekly payroll. Reviewing prior to submission for accuracy based on approved timesheets, applicable pay rates and employee benefit elections.
- Partner with Human Resources to ensure new employees, changes and terminations are accurately entered in the payroll system.
- Comply with regulatory reporting and filing requirements including garnishment management.
- Monitor timesheets to ensure timely submission and approval.
- Prepare, maintain, and review payroll reports including management reports.
- Prepare, maintain and review Full Time, Flex and Part Time payroll budgets.
- Ensure timely distribution of the Museums W-2s.
- Reconcile employee benefit plans between the payroll systems and benefit vendors and communicate discrepancies to Human Resources in a timely manner.
- Ensure timely submission of benefit invoices to Accounts Payable.
- Handle administration of the Museums 403(b) retirement plan.
- Prepare workpapers for 403(b) Audit.
- Month End and Year End Process
- Month end closing responsibilities as assigned, including reconciliations.
- Assists with the annual audit process and 990 return.
- Other Museum Related Entities
- Prepare reconciliations, billing and reporting for DAM Holdings
- Prepare reconciliations, billing and reporting for DAM Garage
- Prepare billing for shared services with Clyfford Still Museum
- Prepare reconciliations and billing with Culinaire
- Other Duties/Responsibilities
- Follow the Museums documented policies and procedures and uphold internal controls.
- Participate in department and Museum projects.
- Support other accounting team members.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
- 3 years of experience relevant Payroll processing or training which provides a working knowledge of accounting procedures
- Successful completion of two to three college semester of basic accounting classes or equivalent work experience
- Proficient in Excel and Word, Microsoft Dynamics Nav (Serenic) experience a plus
- Experience with Paycom Payroll and HR software
- Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable, positive customer service skills
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting knowledge, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
