Job Title: ELCSports Supervisor
Location: 1617 S ACOMA
Department: Extended Learning and Community Schools
Schedule: 235 work days – PROTECH
Salary: $55,167 - $66,201

Position Objective:
Supervises the day-to-day operations of a high quality on-site after school youth Athletics programs/league during the school year; and high quality dismissal days and Athletics camps. Interprets the philosophy of Denver Public Schools to faculty, staff, parents, visitors and the community. Ensure that District policies and procedures are followed.
Essential Functions and Objectives:
Establish and maintain high quality site programs:
Ensures success of year-round athletic programs through the use of positive youth development and sportsmanship strategies
Supervises and assists the athletics coaches in the planning and implementation skill development, practices, games and team events; ensures athletic skill development and coaching is delivered and implemented for children during the school year, camps and dismissal days in an enriching, engaging and enjoyable manner
Promotes a cooperative relationship with all host school and ensures extended learning athletics staff understand school policies and procedures; meets regularly with principal or designated school staff to update about programmatic successes and challenges
Purchases supplies according to guidelines and budget limitations; oversees staff hours and submit time through proper payroll systems and communicates regularly with financial and registration staff regarding program changes, account information and enrollment
Oversees program registration and manages attendance and other program records; provides accurate and timely information on program operations as requested
Hires and supervises a team of coaches, training and supporting staff members to create a harmonious and efficient working environment; manages staff corrective action processes when necessary
Ensures parents receive information on all upcoming Extended Learning and Community Schools (ELCS) athletics events, including parent/family nights, registration, practices, games, Dismissal Day Camps or Break Camps
Creates and implements appropriate systems to ensure best programming practices as approved by ELCS; identifies market strategies to maintain and /or increase program enrollment
Participates in at least 15 hours of professional development training in accordance with Extended Learning and Community Schools expectations and requirements per year; presents workshops at trainings as requested
Remains on site during afternoon program hours; substitutes as needed for all programs as requested
Licensure & Certification:
Must be Able to become First Aid, CPR, Universal Precautions and Medication Certified; Valid Colorado Driver’s License, appropriate insurance coverage and acceptable driving record for the past three years
Must have reliable transportation and the ability to pick up and deliver supplies at times.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree - preferred
1 years supervisory experience in a structured educational setting
1 years previous Athletics experience (coaching and/or participating)
Other Qualifications:
Be at least 21 years of age as defined by Rules Regulating School-Age Child Care Centers.
