Under general supervision plan and schedule maintenance of fixed assets in support of section and personnel. Create, maintain, and plan the asset registry and preventive maintenance systems in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Process and coordinate the daily work order requests. Perform site visits to all facilities to scope, plan, and schedule the proper number of personnel needed to perform jobs as needed.
This position may have formal supervisory responsibilities over other employees.
- Use CMMS to plan and schedule activities related to maintaining and extending the life of the physical plant assets and infrastructure for each respective section. Ensure work is accomplished in a timely manner to achieve total customer satisfaction.
- Process and coordinate the maintenance sections use of the CMMS to include data input as needed.
- Research, standardize, and document job plans and preventive maintenance procedures for new equipment installations to maintain existing equipment through the CMMS and recommend replacement lifelines.
- Analyze and develop reports, including maintenance cost trends, manpower performance, and problem areas to give management the data to make strategic business decisions.
- Research practices, and procedures according to accepted industry standards for all maintenance trades.
- Maintain a technical manual library of documented practices and procedures.
- Assist foreman with the inventory of spare and ordered repair/installation parts available.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely supply of non-stocked inventory items.
- Perform site visits to determine need for work. Follow up on previous work completed and verify assets/locations for Maximo registry.
- May be required to perform on call duty, work shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as directed, and work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

- Water Distribution: The purpose of this position is to perform on site customer consultations about lead line replacement to include recording where the service line enters the building and what the material ty of the service line is. This position would primarily work in the field to make contact with customers, scope the work in advance of the construction crews actually performing the work, make recommendations as to the construction method used to replace the service line (boring or pulling), get consent forms signed from the customer, and inform the customer of the replacement process and their responsibilities.
- Fleet Service Writer: The purpose of this position is to perform as a liaison between fleet, its customers, and outside vendors. This position assists with processing vehicles and construction equipment for planned and unplanned maintenance, which includes accurate data entry of information into the fleet information asset management system. Various reporting, fuel card maintenance, and some contract payment payments are required.
This Limited-term appointment is within the competitive service. Limited-term regular employees have the same rights and privileges and are subject to the same requirements under the Personnel Policies as regular employees. Limited-term appointments are used to fill positions for projects that are expected to take two or more years for completion, but which are clearly not continuing in nature and will terminate upon completion of the work. Denver Water also reserves the right to terminate the position if the Limited-term employee's role on the project is completed or it is determined that there is no longer a need for the position on the project.
Individuals who are selected for Limited-term employment with Denver Water will be appointed for a pre-determined period of time depending on project needs, but that period may be shortened or extended depending on project needs. A limited-term appointment will end when the employee's role on a project is completed or it is determined there is no longer a need for the limited-term position on the project.
The first six months of employment for a Limited-term employee is an introductory period. During this period, your employment can be terminated at any time, and are entitled to the same limited protection and procedures provided to introductory employees.

Compensation: Limited-term employees are eligible for within-grade increases through Denver Water's annual merit program. Limited-term employees are able to compete for other Limited-term or Regular status positions if seeking other opportunities.
