The Development Services Coordinator coordinates critical Development Services functions within the Development department, including gift processing/administration, constituent data management, and list/report preparation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Priority 1 - Gift Processing and Administration
- Gift Processing – Under the supervision of the Development Services and Database Manager, performs gift notifications, batch preparation and data entry of gifts and grants in a timely and accurate manner. Processes check, credit card, EFT, online, cash, stock, recurring, and in-kind donations. Coordinates closely with both Development and Accounting staff to process gifts and prepare necessary data files.
- Works closely with Annual Fund Manager and Individual Giving Manger to facilitate and implement leadership annual giving programs.
- Recurring gifts – works closely with the Individual Giving Manager to execute the recurring gifts program.
- Gift acknowledgement – prepares donor acknowledgement communications in a timely manner.
Priority 2 - Data Management & Reporting
- Work closely with the Development Services and Database Manager to manage and maintain a highly effective donor database that supports the goals and objectives of the department with respect to fundraising and relationship management.
- Lead or assist with data entry, reporting, and data cleanup projects.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date policies and procedures related to gift processing and the management of donor and gift data.
- Provide onboarding, as well as ongoing assistance to the department and other Raiser’s Edge users regarding best practices and established procedures.
- Serve as back-up database administrator.
Priority 3 – Administrative and Events
- Work closely with the Donor Experience Manager to support donor related events, including tracking of RSVPs, attendee lists, data entry/management, to ensure the event meets intended goals/objectives.
Other Responsibilities and Duties
- Other assistance, as designated by the Development Services and Database Manager, to support the overall goals of the department and organization. Denver Zoo retains the right to add or change duties and/or responsibilities at any time.
- Acts as a good steward of Denver Zoo’s resources.
- The nature of this position requires safeguarding against the release of confidential and proprietary information of Denver Zoo.
- This position will interact with managers at all levels and staff members across the organization, in addition to members of external organizations and the public
Technical / Professional Requirements & Qualifications
- 4-year degree preferred, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Requires minimum of 2-years of related experience in a nonprofit; experience working in a nonprofit with gift entry and processing is strongly preferred, or any equivalent combination of experience, lived experience, and/or special skills.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (Raiser’s Edge NXT, Tessitura, or similar) are necessary.
- Requires excellent organizational skills, written and oral communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to prioritize work and tasks.
- Requires adaptability to produce and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-task and changing environment, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to handle sensitive information with diplomacy.
- Must be an effective communicator, collaborator, and problem solver who is comfortable working and collaborating with a broad cross section of people.
- Requires the ability to embrace, support, and integrate Denver Zoo’s philosophies to promote and demonstrate its commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, and anti-racism.
Position Conditions
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
- Schedule Availability: Monday through Friday, occasional nights and weekends as needed, particularly for events.
- Work Location: On campus, occasional remote work
Compensation
Range for this position is $24.43 - $29.93 (hourly).
