The Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) is a progressive business regulatory state agency dedicated to the mission of protecting and serving Oregon's consumers and workers while supporting a positive business climate. The department administers state laws and rules governing workers' compensation, occupational safety and health, financial institutions, insurance companies and building codes. The department has consumer protection and education programs, offices, and ombudsmen to help consumers, injured workers, and businesses.
This position is with the Building Codes Division (BCD). BCD adopts and enforces the statewide building code relating to the construction, reconstruction, alteration and repair of buildings and other structures and the installation of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical devices and equipment.
This position is represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees union (AFSCME).

This position is eligible for remote work on a part-time basis once the incumbent has gained the proficiency to perform work independently. However, regular scheduled office hours are also required.
Here’s what you will do:
As the Executive Support Analyst, you will support Administration through the review, evaluation, and development of process improvement activities associated with business practices and systems related to division operations and performance measure/data collection, and legislative operational processes. You will also serve as a back up to the Division’s Executive Assistant to the Administrator and Deputy Administrator, as well as for public record requests and communications.

Minimum Qualifications :
A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, or Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills for the position;
OR
Any combination of experience or education equivalent to three years technical-level experience in evaluative, analytical and planning work.
Requested Skills :
Experience working closely with executive management in a confidential environment
Experience interpreting laws, rules and policies and communicating to customers and stakeholders
Must be flexible and have the ability to work on various tasks and/or projects at any given time
Outstanding verbal, written, and oral communication skills
Ability to prioritize work to meet competing deadlines
Ability to work independently as well as a participating member of a team
Experience in establishing new processes and procedures while making appropriate decisions or, when necessary, provide recommendations to management
Ability to analyze data and trends and make recommendations to executive management
Ability to analyze raw data and format it in a manner that is easily understood by stakeholders and other end users
Exceptional customer service skills with the desire to constantly improve the customer
experience while building bridges among team members, stakeholders, customers and staff
