Job Description And Duties

The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation is recruiting for one limited-term, full-time, Financial Institutions Manager position within the General Counsel Division, Digital Financial Assets Law (DFAL). Position to be located in the Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles, or San Diego office. This recruitment may be used to fill subsequent vacancies of these positions within the next 180 days.

Under the general direction of the Attorney, Assistant Chief Counsel, Securities Regulation Division (ACC), or any successor to the management of the unit, the Financial Institutions Manager (FIM) acts as a statewide coordinator for administration, licensing, examination, and enforcement of all related regulatory matters of digital financial assets for the implementation of the Digital Financial Assets Law (DFAL). The FIM manages examiners and assists the ACC in the organization, planning, and direction of the unit and makes recommendations concerning technical and policy matters.

This position has the possibility of becoming permanent.

Minimum Qualifications

Five years of increasingly responsible professional auditing or examination experience, including three years supervising a staff of accountants, auditors, or examiners. (Experience in California state service applied toward this requirement must include two years performing the duties in a class at a level of responsibility equivalent to that of a Financial Institutions Examiner, Range C.). And

Education: Equivalent to graduation from college with a specialization in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, or a related business/management specialization.
