What are the responsibilities and job description for the STAFF SERVICES ANALYST position at Department of Rehabilitation?
Under the general supervision of the Team Manager/Staff Services Manager I, the Student Services Coordinator (SSC) of the Vocational Rehabilitation Employment Division/Specialized Services Division, will work cooperatively with program units and supervisors throughout the District; local partners including Local Education Agencies, Regional Centers, America’s Job Center, Independent Living Centers, Family Resource Centers, and Social Security Administration; and the students with disabilities family members, the Staff Services Analyst, Student Services Coordinator (SSC), in a working capacity provides a variety of analytical support related to providing, arranging, coordinating, and monitoring DOR Student Services for Potentially Eligible (PE) and eligible students with disabilities, ages 16 through 21.
The Department of Rehabilitation San Diego is responsible for service delivery of Federal Title I Vocational Rehabilitation Services Program. The services of the Student Services Coordinator (SSC) assist PE and eligible students with disabilities in achieving their employment goals by providing DOR Student Services to students with disabilities and their families. District staff will also conduct eligibility and priority for services determinations for applicants for services, training, assistive technology, supported employment, customized employment, job placement supports, as well as direct post-employment services for individuals who find jobs as a result of DOR services.

Staff Services Analyst-Service Coordinator (Student Services)
- Describe your experience providing services to students with disabilities, ages 16-21, who are transitioning from school to postsecondary education and employment.
- The Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) conducts outreach to a variety of populations and organizations to reach unserved and underserved students. Describe your experience conducting outreach and detail strategies you would use to reach students with disabilities from underrepresented communities.
- Work-based Learning Experience is one of the five Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) Department of Rehabilitation offers. Describe your experience seeking opportunities for individuals with disabilities to participate in a work experience or on-the-job training.
Desirable Qualifications
- Professional experience with providing direct social services to individuals with disabilities.
- Experience working with students with disabilities between the ages of 16-21
- Ability to work with a wide range of diverse individuals internally and externally in representing the Dept. of Rehabilitation.
- Knowledge, ability, and desire to work in partnership with youth with disabilities.
- Coordination experience and familiarity with community services available for youth with disabilities.
- Ability to relate to a diverse set of situations and individuals.
- Ability to interact in a team environment with participants and coworkers in a professional manner, with integrity, and respect.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively organize work and complete multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and personal commitment to the Department’s mission, goals, programs, and policies.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Bilingual-Spanish skills highly desirable.
- Ability to develop reports using AWARE, EXCEL, and other software programs to assist staff to manage performance.
