This position is located in the Weapons Unit, Functional Training Operations Division (FTO), Foreign Affairs Security Training Center (FASTC), Directorate of Training (T), Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), Department of State (DOS). You will support FASTC and the Weapon’s Unit in training and sustaining a workforce capable of effectively addressing and overcoming the law enforcement and security challenges required to support U.S Foreign Policy in the global threat environment.

NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement.
Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
-Experience planning, organizing, implementing, and managing the presentation of weapons training courses.
-Experience using Special Protective Equipment including firearms and less-than-lethal weapons systems.
-Experience with current security concepts, principles and practices in use of force and de-escalation.
-Experience developing written security policies and training procedures that cover a variety of security operations and programs.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.
