Under the general supervision of the Staff Services Manager I (SSMI), in the Security, Facilities Operations Branch under the Office of Business Operations, the Associate Governmental Programs performs technical, analytical and staff administrative support activities that will assure the sound and safe condition of the District 4 Office. The incumbent will provide technical, analytical and staff administrative support that will assure the sound condition of the District’s facilities under the control of the Facilities Operations Branch. The incumbent will be responsible for but not limited to the D4 District Office Space Planning, Elevator Maintenance, Facility Safety Inspection, and Locksmith Services. Provides expert advice and consultation to District management on operational issues. The incumbent will work closely with DGS Building Property Management and all levels of management to ensure plans are up to date. The incumbent will ensure quality assurance and quality control through project management tools and techniques for projects and contracts. The position is responsible for communication with various levels of management and stakeholders on project status.

Applicants with Associate Governmental Program Analyst certification list eligibility MUST also meet the minimum qualifications for the Associate Personnel Analyst classification in order to be eligible for an appointment to the Associate Personnel Analyst classification.

Position located in Oakland, Alameda County.

Incumbent will work in a climate-controlled office under artificial lighting; however, due to unexpected heating and air conditioning problems, building temperature may fluctuate. The incumbent will also be required to travel between the District Office, Headquarters, and other districts throughout the district to attend meetings or trainings. Occasional overtime, night work, and overnight travel may be required.

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
