What You'll Do:
- Website management
• Contribute to the development of a comprehensive content strategy for a number of websites supporting university initiatives.
• Develop high-quality and compelling content for university websites that supports overall communication objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and insights to create content that aligns with the university’s brand and objectives.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, digital content best practices, and emerging technologies to optimize content strategy. - Measurement and performance
• Using a variety of analytics tools, conduct ongoing analysis of website traffic, user engagement and other key metrics for digital communications.
• Interpret data to provide insights into user behavior, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
• Regularly monitor performance and identify areas for optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement performance-enhancing solutions.
• Create and maintain regular reports on communications performance, providing key insights and actionable recommendations.
• Document and communicate findings in a clear and understandable manner. - Support internal communications content production
• Working closely with the internal communications team, assist with content development, copy editing and technical production of the weekly online newsletter, Newsline, and university-wide messages, using Marketing Cloud.
• Apply consistent and relevant messaging across internal communications, tied to the university’s brand, goals and priorities.
• Demonstrate the ability to respond with an appropriate degree of urgency to the needs and requests of others.
• Work cross-functionally and pro-actively with diverse internal audiences.
• Anticipate and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
• Develop and manage a personal workflow and project management process to balance department resources with the many communication needs of campus colleagues.
• Effectively communicate with supervisors and colleagues by developing constructive, cooperative and collaborative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.
• Maintain awareness of best practices for internal communications and participate on relevant cross-departmental teams related to employee engagement.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, business or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in digital communications or similar role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
- Ability to think creatively and strategically, translating objectives into effective content strategies.
- In depth knowledge of digital communications trends and content optimization.
- Experience in writing, editing and knowledge of AP style and proofreading skills preferred.
- Technical knowledge of maintaining websites and related software programs.
- Self-directed and ability to adapt to ever-changing issues and demands; ability to multi-task and work effectively on numerous project teams.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced, results-oriented communication environment.
- High level of professionalism and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Professionally mature with sound judgment and the ability to gain immediate credibility with a wide range of campus colleagues; excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions.
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to handle numerous assignments and issues.
- Demonstrated research and writing skills (collecting data, research, and preparing reports and presentations); and strong analytical skills with a high-level of attention to detail.
- Foster promotion of University Communications as being the primary communication authority for the university;
- Drive external outreach, enhance and/or support DePaul University’s image and reputation;
- Ability to work full-time on campus and travel between the Loop and Lincoln Park Campuses as necessary.
