Job Duties
The Hospital Quality Assurance Director will also develop quality management policies and procedures; coordinate, implement, and evaluate hospital-wide program effectiveness and compliance for meeting and sustaining all Joint Commission Standards; advise Hospital administration of resources and budgetary needs, including personal equipment, renovations, etc.; coordinate WSH Quality/Patient Safety Council assuring issues are followed through; track identified problems to assure improvement or resolution of issues; serve as tertiary backup for Risk Manager to assess all patient and visitor incidents; monitor compliance with the Medicare Exclusion list; serve as liaison to Human Rights Committees (Local and State); and develop/coordinate the hospital response to specific issues and fact finding conferences.

Minimum Qualifications
- prior work experience in data management and analysis, developing quality management plans and annual reports, writing policies and procedures, teaching and training skills, chairing work groups, committees, or teams
- prior supervisory/management experience
- experience in Joint Commission/CMS standard compliance programs
- knowledge of State and Federal Policy, Procedures, Rules, and Regulations regarding Quality Management
- knowledge of standards of external review monitoring bodies of hospitals
- ability to collect, interpret, manipulate, and present data
- effective investigative and interview skills and abilities
- ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form with a variety of individuals from a variety of professional backgrounds
- ability to write in clear, concise and extremely organized manner
- extensive administrative and clinical knowledge base
- high degree of independent initiative, decision making, and teaching/training skills
Additional Considerations
- degree in clinical, behavioral, or public administration field
- experience directing/overseeing Quality Management/Performance improvement program
- experience with performance improvement teams, understanding high reliability organizations, or lean six sigma
- bilingual
