What are the responsibilities and job description for the B/D® Senior Designer - US Remote position at DEPT®?
You work with the BASIC/DEPT® team to design standard-setting products for one of its major clients and continue its course of providing high-quality content for lifestyle and technology categories.
The Senior Designer is an integral part of the BASIC/DEPT® team and helps to provide support to one of its major clients. You will design experiences that set the standards for others to follow. You do this through conceptual direction, production, sketching, prototyping, and planning. You are design focused, detail-oriented, excellent at collaborating and multitasking, and eager to be part of a team that makes things come to life.
This person will regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment and will be involved in design, digital experience, eCommerce and lifestyle, and technology content to create experiences that deeply connect with people. Leadership is exciting to you but you’re also willing to follow others because you understand that great ideas can come from anywhere. You possess a strong design intuition and want to continue to learn, grow and challenge yourself. You also have a strong desire to ensure that clients are extremely satisfied with our services and products. In addition, you possess strong problem-solving skills and a track record of success. You will be dealing with multiple personality types, and need to be able to adapt based on the person you are working and communicating with.
In your role, you will report to the Design Director, who will drive the strategy and direction for the creative and design team. You will support the strategic goals of the company by focusing on the success of these activities and assisting with meeting the short and long-term objectives of the organization. You will collaborate regularly with designers and writers. Also includes the opportunity to lead smaller digital commerce lifts.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Collaborate with a team of 15 creatives, working remotely with the Mountain View team (PST hours) and interact with a larger team of 40 talented people.
- Contribute to the design and production of large-scale digital projects: sites that tell stories and have large ecosystem considerations, best-in-class e-comm, animated product demos for onsite & retail, branding, and more.
- Build presentations within Figma and Google Docs, craft documentation and deliver asset kits to developers and other team members. Some prototyping is ideal but not required.
- Acts as a leader and a team player by contributing to the creative execution of the company’s efforts and putting the client and the team before yourself.
- Bring business strategy to creative execution to drive results.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Knowledge, communicative and analytical skills equivalent to those normally obtained through receipt of a Bachelor's Degree in a design, visual arts or a related field, or equivalent years of additional related professional experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in design and interactive work.
- A high level of mastery of Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite. Prototyping (in any software) and animation skills are a plus.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $115,000 - $145,000. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, expertise, and organizational impact. This is based on a 40-hour workweek and leveling. Keep in mind, we're flexible.
