Lab Techs are responsible for embedding, sectioning and staining of tissue and slides for microscopic diagnosis while maintaining critical focus on quality.

Lab Techs are responsible for embedding, sectioning and staining of tissue and slides for microscopic diagnosis while maintaining critical focus on quality.
Job Responsibilities
- Embeds tissues and cuts blocks/tissue performing all technical procedures
- Uses H&E staining, special stains and immunohistochemistry staining
- Monitor equipment functionality and provided timely reports on variables or degrading quality to lab management
- Operates a variety of laboratory and office equipment,
- Improves laboratory efficiencies by detecting and communicating technical and logistical problems
- Dispose of hazardous chemical waste per guidelines
- Enters information and test orders into the laboratory computer system
- Respond to a high volume of phone calls seeking laboratory testing information.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in Health or Science
- 2 years’ experience in clinical lab
- Ability to read specimen labels
- Attentive to Detail
- Thorough understanding of HIPAA law
- Team player
