Deschutes County Behavioral Health (DCBH) is the Community Mental Health Program providing safety net and core clinical services for community members in Deschutes County dealing with mental health and substance use conditions. DCBH is also a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). As such, DCBH relies on multi-disciplinary teams to provide innovative, evidence based, recovery oriented services in behavioral healthcare settings co-located with physical health providers.

ABOUT THE JOB:
Compressive Care for Youth and Families, North County Campus provides a mix of mental health and substance use treatment services to children, youth and young adult’s ages 0-25. Our main focus is to help improve the health and wellbeing of those we serve. We offer a blend of community and office based services to residents of the Northern areas of Deschutes County. We use a shared team approach to help people meet their treatment goals.
As a Behavioral Health Specialist II on the Comprehensive Care for Youth and Families team, you will have the opportunity to provide various intensive outpatient services to a diverse group of children, teens, and families seeking both mental health and addiction services. This includes individuals with a variety of diagnoses or experiences including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, attachment issues, ADHD, PTSD, Bi-polar disorder, substance abuse and psychosis. This position is heavily focused on PCIT and integration with Intensive Youth Services, requiring a candidate who is trained in evidenced based approaches to care supporting at risk children, youth and families through a person centered integrated care model.
With the high prevalence of trauma among individuals receiving mental health services, it is required that you understand the effects of trauma on health, coping, and other aspects of the lives of those we serve. We are looking for people who are passionate about working in community mental health and who are committed to improving the lives of those we serve through trauma informed models of practice.
This position will primarily work with children, families, and young adults, and will work closely with other intensive youth programs, including WRAP, YAT, and School Based Health teams. This is a part time position (.5 FTE), working 2-3 days per week, for a total of 20 hours per week. Additional details of the schedule can be discussed during interviews with potential candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect behavioral health services to youth and families within the Redmond Community with a focus on Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and integration with Intensive Youth Services.
- Prepare comprehensive assessments and provide community-based intensive services.
- Work in collaboration with other members of the treatment team and be able to develop and maintain positive relationships with community partners and social service agencies.
Knowledge of or experience with:
- Preparing concise and complete reports and documentation related to client treatment, progress and services in a timely and professional manner.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, clients and their families, other agencies, and the public at all times.
- Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Screening, assessing, and diagnosing clients for services.
- Working effectively both independently and in a team setting.
- Acting professionally with regard to code of ethics and confidentiality.
This position is primarily located in Redmond, however travel to locations in Deschutes County may be required to meet department needs.

$2,840.68 to $3,806.78 per month for a 86.34 hour work month for those possessing current licensure without restrictions from a recognized governing board in Oregon as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

- Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy or a behavioral science field;
- AND one (1) year of experience in the behavioral health field;
- OR any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills and knowledge to perform the job.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- PCIT Certification – Certification will be required to be completed by candidate if not already certified.
- Master's degree in a behavioral health field with two years of progressively responsible experience in providing counseling and casework services.
- Current licensure without restrictions from a recognized governing board in Oregon as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
- Familiarity with the WRAP-Around and Other Intensive youth services programs.
- Experience in Integrated Behavioral Health and Medical Care programs.
Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver's license within 30 days of hire date. The employment offer will be contingent upon presentation of an acceptable and verifiable driver's license, pre-employment screening for criminal history, driving history, and controlled substances (NOTE: Positive test results for marijuana use may result in rescission of a contingent offer of employment). This screening must be completed with satisfactory findings in order for a formal offer of employment to be extended.
Must have dependable transportation and be able and willing to drive throughout Deschutes County in sometimes adverse weather conditions.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule when necessary, to meet client and department needs.
Physical Requirements: Requires sufficient ambulatory ability to drive throughout Deschutes County and to provide face-to-face services in a variety of settings in the community, including but not limited to hospitals, jails, clinics, client homes, and community and residential settings within required response times. Must have the ability to work in an office that is environmentally controlled; possess sufficient hand coordination to perform keyboarding and data entry; arm/hand movements to retrieve work materials and operate a variety of general office equipment; and an ability to sit, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, reach, stand, grasp, talk, hear, see, and lift up to 10 pounds on an occasional basis.
