Desert Regional Medical Center is a 385 bed acute-care hospital classified as a stroke receiving center and level 2 trauma facility with an innovative, patient centered and evidence-based Rehabilitation Services Department.
Our compassionate team provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including acute care rehabilitation, joint replacement & spinal surgery, neurosurgery, ICU, Telemetry, step-down care, skilled nursing, as well as outpatient therapy, hand and lymphedema clinics.
Position Overview:
The Prehospital Liaison Nurse (PLN) will fulfill the role as defined in the Base Hospital contract between Desert Regional Medical Center (DRMC) and Riverside County Emergency Medical Services (REMS).
The PLN will report to the Director of Emergency/Trauma Services.
The PLN will work in conjunction with the Trauma Program Manager (TPM) to oversee education, compliance, and quality for DRMC’s base hospital program.
Additionally, the PLN will play a key role in arranging/providing educational opportunities for MICNs and prehospital personnel.
The PLN will have oversight of policies and procedures regarding patients arriving by EMS and will educate hospital staff and physicians regarding REMS policy changes and updates.
The PLN will perform other duties as assigned by the department director.

Department Specific Duties:
Maintain radio equipment
Base hospital meetings and other prehospital/MICN education
REMS CQI participant
Relief CM as needed
Maintain EMS records for STEMI center
Oversight of MICN communication, certifications, education, contracts
Oversight of paramedic school affiliations
Participate in Emergency Preparedness drills, committees
Chart Audits.
Qualifications
Position Qualifications:
Required:
Current California RN License
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 5 years clinical experience
Demonstrated clinical competence and leadership skills
Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
Demonstrated ability to present self in positive and professional manner
Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (maintain current at all times)
Current American Heart Association ACLS Certification
Current American Heart Association PALS
Current MICN with 2 years experience
TNCC
CEN
Preferred:
EMS experience
ENPC Certification
